侘 寂 - Imperfect Beauty - Lessons from Nature
Wabi-Sabi is an ancient Japanese aesthetic, rooted in Zen Buddhism and centered on the acceptance of transience and imperfection. It is the art of appreciating beauty in the naturally imperfect, impermanent and incomplete world. Wabi-Sabi is asymmetrical, rustic, simple, modest, intimate, and appreciative of the ingenuous integrity of natural objects, cycles and processes.
This collection of photographs is a sweet journey through Mother Nature's Wabi-Sabi world. When we acknowledge imperfect beauty in the mundane, we begin to accept and celebrate our own internal beauty, flaws and all.
I invite you to sit quietly and mindfully --deeply see, listen, and feel into each image-- notice what emotion, felt-sense or wisdom arises in you. Just notice, without any judgment, and enjoy.
